4. Minimize the use of food as much as possible while achieving the expected results.
5. The amount of this additive in food ingredients should not exceed the maximum allowed usage.
6. The content of the additive introduced into the food by the ingredients should be significantly lower than the level typically required for direct addition to the food.
7. These ingredients should be used under normal production process conditions, and the content of the additive in the food should not exceed the level brought in by the ingredient.
The standard for the use of food additives is an evaluation of their toxicity (or safety) The main standard is the daily acceptable intake (ADI), which refers to the maximum daily intake of a substance continuously consumed by a person throughout their lifetime without affecting their health. The unit is milligrams per kilogram of body weight.
